my backlight was working after my daughter spilled milk on it. i took it apart to clean the keys because they wouldnt work, and then the backlight wont come on anymore! i can see everything on my screen if i focus and have good sunlight. can i fix this problem myself ? do i need to buy a new screen and if so how much?

Might be because of loose connectors, that is a DIY thing.
But if some electronic component is nuked, you'll need to see RIM/carrier tech support.
