I just purchased a Blackberry 8310. The "settings" application is missing.
I have a tutorial and tried to go back to factory settings...but guess what, you need the "setting" application to do it. I'm really not cell phone savvy,
so any help you can give would be appreciated.

its actually the options you are looking for. not exactly what you are after though, do you really want to reset the phone to factory settings since you just bought it?

no, i don't really want to reset it, but i thought if i did that the "setting" application would reappear. I'm trying to find a way to change the "tone" when I receive a text message. Also trying to find out how to find my sent messages? At this point I'm sorry I didn't get another blackjack...much easier to navigate

okay well that you need to do via the profile. you will have to edit whatever active profile you want to change that on.

there is no "setting" icon for the blackberry its called options

the only thing that's offered under "profiles" is the volume of the ring.
surely there's another "tone" i can choose for text messaging.

i do see "advanced", but there is no "option" listed. After "advanced" it
goes to another profile list, and the only additional thing it offers is "use active profile except for important calls" as an option.

At that stage, scroll to highlight your active profile
For instance, mine says "Normal (Active)"
    Click with trackball
Choose the option you're trying to change
    For instance, "phone"
    Set your ringtone
    Save

    Good luck!
