Default Blackberry 8120 pearl unlocked 507

hi peeps. sorry for the lame questions but i have given a BB 8120 pearl to try and fix.
it comes up JVM 507 on the screen. i dont know the real just of what the owner has done, i was told they forgot their password and it ended up like this.

anyways
the phone was on Orange UK and then unlocked and then worked on O2 UK before this all happened.

I have tried the JL_Cmder to wipe the phone which does not seem to do much
i have also tried to reset it to factory settings and still no luck.
i have downloaded the latest OS for the phone on both orange and O2 and still getting no where

it goes through the process but when it goes to load the *.Cod files the phone reboots and this errors on the pc, i have checked the USB settings in pc device manager and they are not set to save power.

can anyone give me any ideas on what to do or is the phone just done?

also should i be reloading OS for the original Orange or to the last used O2?

cheers and thanks for looking

507 usually means that the os is not installed.

Make sure that the os that you downloaded is the correct one for your phone and make sure that it is INSTALLED on your pc.

I find it easier to go to the RIM website and pick your os, download, install and use the application loader to install the os.

For more help, look in the how-to section here on CB for "how to fix a nuked bb" .

Just hook it up to bb software with no battery and click on update and then pop in the battery when it says waiting for initialization.

i tried the connecting the phone to pc with bb manager running and no battery. goes through the process of the updates.
tries to initialise the phone, i insert the battery and then it tries to reconnect to the JVM.
then phone reboots and connection is lost

cant proceed any further than this
