I recently purchased a pearl 8130 from Verizon, and just the other day I was no longer receiving BBM messages even when my blackberry told me i was. So I was told by the verizon store to do a soft reset by pulling the battery out, and when i put it back in and started it up, it was all in black and white! My entire blackberry menu looks like a 1990s Macintosh.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks? Or should I just return it and get a new one?

Has this happened to anyone else?

Take it back. Don't even bother trying to fix it.
