New user and first time with a blackberry. My question is on the battery. Being new trying to get as much figured out, drains the battery pretty quick.
Is the extended battery shown here the 1250 mAh a good buy.
    Thanks

Yes the battery is well worth it. Make sure you close your apps when you're done with them, the red button doesn't do it. You have to do the BB button and select close.

Make sure and hold down the alt key plus the backwards key together. You should see 5 key programs running that you cannot close. call log, messenger, home, browser and messages. If you see any more than that...close them. That will help with the battery life like Fonebrkr said.

I got the extended battery and love it. My Pearl lasts 3-4 days now with average use instead of 2.

The 'alt' key is the bottom left key (has a arrow pointing up and one pointing down) then the 'backwards' key is the one to the right of the trackball.

Which are the optional apps that drain the power most? That way I can make sure I close out of those.
