I was installing a theme which I thought was made for 81xx versions, apparently it was labeled wrong and I realized this when it took forever and my phone started rebooting itself. Everything is erased and I do not know how to go back! I have my contacts backed up on my computer but thats it. Please Help!!!

You will need to install Desktop Manager, then download the newest OS for your blackberry, and install this OS onto your computer, (PC not MAC)

Then connect your blackberry, and you should be prompted to install the software.

If you use the most recent OS, and its not from your provider, you will need to locate and delete vendor.xml on your machine.

I am sure someone else will come along who can explain this a bit better, but I do hope this helps.

That is the same one I originally downloaded so I could put themes on the phone. It worked, but it wont now. Here are some pics of the steps I have gone through in the Desktop Manager after the install of the software.

Is the blackberry in constant reboot sequence? Or does it boot up and able to be used?

If it's in a constant reboot sequence go to this link and follow the directions.

No I can use it and everything. One main app I notice is missing is the E-Mail Setup Application. I followed that link to reload the os, but it did not change anything. I am so lost!!! It seems when I install the software upgrade Bettyn linked it does not affect the desktop manager or the bb at all. I feel the issue may lie in that process; I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and repairing and nothing does the trick.

Just to be clear with my mind. When you downloaded the Alltel OS for 8130 did you then find the file you downloaded and install it to your computer (PC)? Then run desktop manager - application loader and then go all the way to the end of the prompts for application loader?

On your phone, what does it say for the version under options - about?

Yes I have run it through multiple times. The big problem I have now is that I don't have the e-mail setup application.

    In the about it says:

    BlackBerry 8130 smartphone (CDMA)
    v4.3.0.81 (Platform 3.1.0.40)

which I don't think was on there until I messed it up.

You will probably have to resend your service books. Log onto your BIS website and re send them from there.

Ok, go to options - advanced options - applications

See if "email setup application" is in there.

Then go to options - advanced options - service book

And see if e-mail setup [browser config] is in there.

Ok try this, go to options> advanced options> host routing table then hit menu key and select register now.

Most people re send their service book from the BIS website.

The BIS website does the same job as the email set up icon.

If your BB is working fine you do not really need the email set up icon. However if you really want it your carrier may be able to have it sent to your phone again, contact them.

I wouldn't need it, but when I reinstalled the OS, my email accounts got deleted. Can I add them through the BIS? I guess thats my real question now.

yes you can add your email addresses through there. It has the same function as the email set up icon as I said before.

Who is considered my BIS? Alltel?

Sorry, I don't know nothing about resending service books and I think it would be good to know just in case.

I tried deleting them and setting them up again, but I still cannot

    get their icons to show.
