My trackball moves like it should but on screen it only goes up and left and right (no down). The trackball is not stuck and moves down just as easy as any other direction. I pulled the battery but that didn't help. Any thoughts?

Press firmly and roll in the direction it does not want to go... firmly.

That will usually clear whatever dust or link has made it under there, and is the RIM recommended manner to clear it.

If not, you may need to remove the trackball and clean it, perhaps.

There is a nice FAQ about removing/cleaning the trackball here and I think at BBforums.
I had to help one of the drug reps that come into our office do it. I was nervous to do it, but it was actually rather easy.

ha.. and here I was thinking the new rougher feeling 8130 trackball was perhaps intentionally designed as such to help prevent it getting "stuck" from dust/lint/dirt. Oh well, so much for that theory
