Lightbulb 8130 Sound Failure

For the past few months my BB Pearl 8130 has been failing on me. My ringers (bbm, sms, phone) dont seem to ring or output sound when they should be notifying me. After a reset of taking the battery out, its back to normal. Give it half-way through the day or even a few days, ill take a peek at my phone and see that i have 3 missed calls, few unread sms or bbm msg's. Changing my profiles wont change it and the only thing worth doing to fix it is a simple reset.

I assume this is a hardware problem? It can be quite annoying.

I've been noticing this on my 8130 too recently! I find sometimes when I hit the mute button on top, it fixes itself, but I know that I'm not always pressing the mute button to turn the sound off, so it is confusing. I am glad I'm not the only one, but it's still frustrating.

Try backing up your device, then delete your sound profiles. Pull the battery, and do an advanced restore of just your sound profile.
What OS version are you running?

My OS is 4.5.0.169!

I shall upgrade it instead of waiting for my stupid carrier to notify me!

I was on .169 with AllTel, I tried .173 from Sasktel and .175 from Sprint. .173 did my 8130 very well; if you're comfortable with upgrading give 4.5.0.173 a whirl.
