Directly left of the time display on the same line, I have an indicator. Can't find anywhere in manual. It is a circle with a cross in it , outside of the circle it has 2 small half circles (like voice mail indicator) anyone know what it means?

The circle with a cross is your GPS status indicator. It should have some 'beams' or 'waves' if it is active.
