Default 8110 Pearl Signal Problems

Hello everybody. My Pearl 8110 is having problems with the reception. It is constantly(almost) searching for a network and when it finally finds it losses the signal and goes to SOS, then it starts searching again, and the cycle repeats. Sometimes, the signal lasts for a minute or two, but the moment I try to make a call, it looses it and gives me a Call Failed message.

I thought it was a software problem and I update the 4.3 to the latest 4.5, but the problem persists. The phone was bought some time ago on a business contract from vodafone, but after 2 years the contract was terminated and I thought that maybe(even though the contract was terminated legally) they IMEI blocked it or reported as stolen. The phone is not blocked. It is locked on vodafone, though. I tried a few SIM's, even a new pre-paid SIM. It does the same.
