    I just finished upgrading from .138 after getting the email from RIM and the first striking difference is the file free after a reboot. v.138 showed about 14 meg for me after a battery pull and v.160 now shows over 17 meg.

    Time to give it a good once over to see what else is up.

    Isn't there a way that rim would let everyone know what these updates are? When an update for the iphone comes out everyone knows what it is for

    I updated to .160 (mentioned in another thread) and all seems OK.

    I get notices from RIM via email when the update is ready, since I signed up for notices via email and I get the notices that way.

    I've tried every provider link from RIM, no 4.5.0.160 found for the 8130. I did find that OS for the 8330 from Telus, but I doubt that would work. Anyone know if there is a way to move the files DM downloaded for the upgrade to a friends non-Alltel pearl?

    Hooked mine up and it wants me to downgrade to .77 from my .138. Wont be doing that anytime soon. So any links to the OS would be appreciated.

    BlackBerry - Update your Device Software

    Once you've chosen this, It should bring up loader. If you don't have the latest and greatest, it will upgrade you. Now once this is all down. It will search for the latest version, once done, a window should appear with OS choses to load on your phone. Make sure you pick .160

    I cannot get it to work on my Verizon Pearl 8130.

    Wants me to stay on 4.5.0.77

    Anyone on VERIZON get this to work?
    On my 8130 (from VZW) RIM is telling me that I should "upgrade" to 77 or stay with my current 138......

    Interesting.

    On the Alltel Blackberry portal, I don't see .160 at all.

    I do, however, see version .177

    BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.177 (Multilanguage)

    Package Version: 4.5.0.177
    Consisting of:

    * Applications: 4.5.0.127
    * Software Platform: 3.4.0.20
    * File name: 8130uAMEA_PBr4.5.0_rel177_PL3.4.0.20_A4.5.0.127_Al lTel.exe
    * File size: 87.03MB
    Which appears to be a downgrade from the most recent OS.
