Problems with my 2GBs SD

Hi there.. I'm kinda new to this blackberry stuff..
I got this blackberry from a friend, it's a 8100 Pearl..

I tried to put my old 2GB MicroSD and the phone wont recognize it.
I already formated it to FAT32's windows format, and still it wont recognize it.
It says "Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is formatted"

What can I do to make this work?

EDIT:
I forgot to mention.
I have another bit of a problem.. I have all my contacts in the SIM Card and I can't get to copy all my contacts to the phone.
How do i do that too?

I probably needs to be formatted to the BB but that will erase the card. You can back up the card to the PC and then format in BB.

Options > Memory > Menu > Format

It just may be a corrupted card. I had this happen once when I removed the card with out selecting the remove card option. Many different things can cause a card to corrupt.

I would buy a new card... like Garz said.. it could be corrupted. Also, to import your SIM card contacts.. go to your address book, press options then scroll to "SIM Phonebook" it should import them... hope that helps!
