Email us the code you're trying and we will check it for you, also how many left does it say before you enter the code?

never seen any imei startint with 98**. always seen them starting with 3**.

I m from India and i m using blackberry 8830 world edition phone. few days back i brought this phone from a store but he did not given me a warranty bz the phone is discard which was locked my a telecom nz .
then the weird thing happened when i go to sim card type mepd .. its shows me NETWORK activated .. so i thought it was locked so from ebay i have bye a unlock code .. and then i enter it 3 times but it still say 10 attemts left ??
is it my phone unlocked bz i m able to use everything on it except in every few min my BIS service automatically disconcerting so right now i m working on it .. but since its a world edition phone so i m little confused ...

The MEP counter will loss a try after you enter the code (submit).
Do not enter single code more then 1 time.

Hi can anyone help me?? I have bought a blackberry 8900 for my sons birthday off eBay and it's locked to orange.. As I'm practically broke I thought it will be cheaper to save bus fare and find a site online to get the unlock code.. I had a look at the number in the back of the handset but not a million percent sure it's spot on as my eyesight is terrible even with specs anyhow I received 6 codes through from a sight at the cost of the remainder of my bank balance and now I have a loved blackberry, no cash, 6 stupid codes and only 3 try's left.. I'm terrified I have just wasted all the money I have on a gift I'm gonna have no sim for.. Please I'm begging for someone to help me sort this out :/

Start by getting the correct IMEI from the phone. That's the code you tried to read - but you can have the phone display it on screen by keying

By getting the electronic version you know you have the right answer, and the writing is bigger.

Then scan back through a few pages of this thread and find an unlocker with a good reputation. Most of our respected unlockers have post counts well into thousands, so you should be able to pick them out easily. If you are in any doubt, contact them first by PM or email to discuss.

Hi thanks for the help  iv checked the imei number again and it is right.. I got an email back from the company who are supposedly going to look into it but haven't heard anything since, when I put the sim in that I want to use it asks for the code so I put it in and then nothing no options to press yes or no to etc so I press the back up key and it clears the box that is for the code and tells me I have 1 less try.. I'm not used to blackberrys so it's all alien to me 

If you have only 3 attempts left then you need to do unlocking by MEP ID, it will provide single code to unlock your Blackberry.
We also offer unlocking by carrier and some information about which code to use can be found here: Blackberry unlock codes - but if the carrier is orange and you have more codes then attempts to insert it then, use a MEP unlocking method instead of a carrier unlocking.
PM me if you need help with it, but don't waste the attempts you have left with.

So I fell for this too. I've been without a phone for two weeks ow and I really can't afford it anymore. I would really like to know how to fix this. I am using a blackberry that used to be at&t. A blackberry 9700. My carrier is t-mobile. I bought a calculated code from one of those companies and it isn't working. I have 5 tries left. please help me!

Might be hardlocked. Which would then require it to be unlocked via cable and software.
