Default need help asap!

hey everyone. i am having some trouble with my pearl 8100. i plugged it into my mac for the first time in a while and it said updates were available. i began the install. it froze up waiting for the device to restart so i clicked cancel with no response so i had no choice but to disconnect and restart the computer. well now when i turn on my blackberry all the screen shows is the hourglass ticking continuously. i tried pulling the battery a few times. same result. i plugged it into the computer an it just says waiting for devise to start while the hourglass remains on the screen of the blackberry. i am at a loss. i dont know very much about blackberrys and could really use some help with this. i dont know where to go from here so any suggestions are greatly appreciated and the more specific the instructions the better, im a noob. thanks.

I was going to suggest the same thing to reload the OS. If all else fails just take it to a retail store tomorrow and have them fix it up for you.

Are you sure that the device locked up? There is one stage of the install which takes about 30 min to complete, and the phone just sits there with an hourglass going. This is normal.

If you cancelled the upgrade during this part, the OS was not properly installed on your device.
