Default Just got a Pearl off of ye olde eBay...

Hey, I just got a cheap and cheerful BlackBerry Pearl from eBay as a second phone. Well, I won the auction and paid, just gotta wait for delivery now. I'm mainly an iPhone guy but I must admit I'm looking forward to recieving my new gadget

Before the phone arrives, I have a few (probably extremely noobish, and I apologise for that in advance) questions.

First, a little info. I'm in the UK and the Pearl I got is locked to O2 (which I'm on, so I don't need an unlock or anything).

Anyway, here's my questions:

1) I read that I need to get a special BlackBerry data plan to use BBM and the BlackBerry's built-in browser. O2's site lists a bolt-on which gives this to you, as well as 500MB Internet, for £5 a month. Can I set that up on a standard Pay & Go SIM?
2) How do I go about setting up a BIS/whatever account? I understand I have to set it up with O2?
3) If I update to 4.5 AT&T, will the fact it's AT&T cause trouble for an O2 phone?
4) I read I can get App World for the Pearl from the BlackBerry site, is that true?
5) ColorPearl apparently won't work with 4.5, is there an alternative app that will?
6) Can I get a cheap adapter so I can plug in my 3.5mm headphones?
7) How about cheap MicroSD cards?
8) And finally, do I need to worry about releasing the PIN if I'm using it on the same provider?

Thanks

Hi BB Josh,

Some answers to your questions

#3 - OS upgrade - I don't think you'll have any problem. My device is from Cingular and I just recently upgraded my OS with the newest from O2 UK

*the Sticky post on this forum (Pearl) will help you a lot in doing so.

#5 - BlingBall4.5. you can also get this from the Sticky Post

Hope that helps

Have a great weekend

Thanks! The upgrade process still unnerves me a little, and I haven't seen a guide for Macs. I do have PCs, but only one is reliable and it's in pieces at the moment
