Default How many messages and the messaging inbox hold?

I have my phone set to keep messages forever but after a while the bottom ones disappear. Does this mean it has reached it's capacity? And if so, what is the capacity and can it be changed? And also is there any way to tell how many messages are in my inbox? Because it doesn't seem to count it anywhere. Thank you.

Your phone will hold messages until it runs out of memory. There is no simple answer to how many it can hold, since that depends on what other apps you have in memory. Options / Status / File Free is the memory you have to work with. You need to keep it above 10 000 000 if possible, to avoid losing messages. The CrackBerry Memory Optimization Procedure that's linked in my sig will help you maximize File Free.
