How do I get it so I can view who sent each message of a conversation?

heeey,

just got this blackberry off of my dad, so i'm trying to get to grips of it, i reset the phone back to the default settings so all the data was deleted and my dad said when he had it when he had text conversations it came up like this:

me: aijkfshdkgaj
sender: hikhsgiwn
me: hiadfnskj
etc.

so how can i alter the settings so that on a conversation i am able to see who sent each message like if i sent that text or my friend sent it to me?

aah thank you so much! i don't have internet included in my contract but i've put it on my phone and it works and stuff but does it still use internet? so will i get charged for it? or does it not use internet?
