Google Talk through WiFi?
The title kinda says it all. I don't have the internet/email servcie YET but, can I get google talk to work through a WiFi network? How do I set it up. Right now all the phone tells me when I try and log on to google talk is: "Service not enables for this handheld"
Any idea whats going on?
Thanks guys! - 12-29-2008, 06:15 PM #2
No chance for setting it up if you don't have internet.
Gtalk and other IM apps work by using data from your internet connection.
Get the internet/email service and start really enjoy your BB!!!! - 12-29-2008, 11:12 PM #3

Do you have a BLACKBERRY Data Plan? - 12-29-2012, 11:17 AM #10
You need to have a BlackBerry Data Plan.

You need to contact your cell phone service provider and ask for a BlackBerry Data Plan (BIS) that will support data applications such as Google Talk, etc.

Yes, a BlackBerry Data Plan is required to use Google Talk on BlackBerry even over WiFi.
If that's not something you can do (or not something that you want to do), then you probably should try a different phone platform.
