Thumbs down Email Issue

Hi,

I could really do with some help as I am completely new to Blackberrys.

I inherited a phone from my dad as he has upgraded, the Pearl 8100. Orignially locked to Vodafone, I paid to have it unlocked so it now works with my Orange Sim card.

I wiped the phone using BBSAK and installed the latest O/s using the official BB software. The phone appears to be working ok in terms of calls and text but I have not option to set up my personal email address's (POP or IMAP), only Blackberry Enterprise email services.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

I'm guessing your dad used the phone for work. Did he contact his carrier and release his pin? He'll have to do that before you can register it for email. If he did that, and you are still having problem, you may still have his IT policy on your phone. Also, be sure that you have a BLACKBERRY Data Plan active on your account for the device.
