Default Device Manager vs Desktop Manager?

Can you tell me the difference between a Device Manager and Desktop Manager? I clicked to check for updates for my desktop manager, and found a newer edition, but it's called a "device" manager, and my computer maintains both seperately, rather than the normal merging of the newer one into the older.

Help!?

Thanks!

Default

Device manager is part of Desktop Manager. Device manager helps manage your BB anytime you plug it into your computer.
