Connecting to a 3G network

can the pearl 8100 connect to 3G network?
because i was reading the review from cnet and it says you cant. but sometimes i will randomly connect to a 3G network but only for 5 min or so. it would be really great if it can

You cannot connect to the 3G network. The 8100 doesn't have a 3G Radio and you most likely have connected to 1evdo, but that is different that 3g
