No, the regular 8100 does not have WiFi. Of the (current) Pearls, only the 8120 has WiFi

You cannot avoid getting a data plan. There are many websitess with the APN's but it doesn't get you internet access, the provider will still charge you.

I run my 8100 on Rogers with no data plan. Obviously I can't use the phone on the net, nor can I get emails on the phone. (so, basically it's just a fancy cell phone) There is no way to connect the 8100 to the net, as it does not have WIFI access, and there is no way to use your computer as the internet connection for your phone.

at&t's new policy is that no smartphone can be purchased without a data plan here on out.
