You need to use third party dos based utilities to completely wipe the device clean, and then reinstall the official version of the OS using the desktop manager.

It could be an app you are running. I just discovered that switching my beweather to update only when wi-fi is detected seems to be saving me a BUNCH of battery during the day.

Any app that can be set to update frequently ... facebook, twitter, socialscope, weather apps ect... will drain your battery quicker.
