Default no sound for contact alert

So i got a larger MiniSD for my phone and ever since i switched it out i can not set special alert tones for my contacts. The special ringtone still works but i have no sound on the alert tones at all

It was totally fine before and now i have no idea why it doesn't work. I have tried different sounds, different contacts, no luck

Can anyone can help?

Sounds like the tones you lost may have been saved on the memory card. I'm not sure which tones you were trying to get (e.g. ringtones, text, bbm) but they can all be individually selected.

profiles> set ringtones> select which tones you wanna get back

What i'm trying to do is to set a different tones for peeps when they call and text me.
I go to contacts pick my contact, press edit, go to Custom Ring Tones/Alerts and Messages and set it there... Still, no sound... ugh....

I still have the tones on my card (i put everything back i had on the other one). I did the same as i did last time and than it worked fine and now it just doesn't... driving me nuts!

Everything else is set to either always or active? Do you get the tone with "try it"?

Here's how i have it set:
Volume : Active Profile (which is the normal)
Count: Active Profile
Play Sound: Active Profile
LED: Active Profile
Vibration: Active Profile
Vibration with Ring Tone: Active Profile

And no, it does not ring, only vibrates when i do the "Try it"

I know the sound file is fine, coz if i put it as a ring tone it works and i have tried originally uploaded files for alert and those don't work either

Ok. But in the ACTIVE PROFILE, what are each of those settings set to?

Create a Custom Profile and choose that as the Active Profile (instead of the Normal Profile) and see if that works.

I would like to assign different tones to about 8 different people. If i make a custom profile for one of them and make that active, it will change all the tones to that one. and than all of them will sound the same... won't it?!

No. That's not what I meant.

Create a Custom Profile with the same settings as your "Normal" Profile. And set that as the Active Profile.

Then see if it works with the Contact Alerts that you have set up.

It is SO frustrating when it should be so simple and still it doesn't work. I'm thinking about setting the phone back to manufacture setting and starting from scratch.... really, really don't want to do it but at this point i see no other option... ugh

thanks for trying though!

I GOT IT!!!!!!!

I've been searching online for like 3 days now, and i just came across a post from someone with the same problem, apparently the only thing i had to do is take the apprentices and the dash out from the phone number so instead of using (333) 333-3333 i had to do 3333333333....... how stupid!!
