Default Little Giant...

The Pearl 3G has got to be the most underrated device ever!

- Small - in the age of massive 4" and 5" screens, it's a welcome change to have something that fits into my pocket without feeling wierd.

- Screen - the size of the screen may be small, but the resolution makes up for it. Everything looks so crisp.

- SureType - it took me a while to get used to the keyboard, but after a few short hours i was typing like a pro. I may not be as fast as on my wife's 9900, but it still works.

- Apps - I really gave up installing 3rd party applications - even the weather apps seems t slow down my device. Keeping it clean with all the usual BB apps - bb protect, bbm, bbm music, bb traffic, bb maps, bb bridge, facebook, twitter.

- Battery life - the best part about this device is the battery lasts me the whole day easily. I make a few short phone calls, and bbm and email all day long while bridged to my playbook. I'm too lazy to turn off my radios, so bt, wifi and wireless is always on... and it keeps rocking all night long.

Overall, a great device - it's sad that RIM probably won't release another generation of Pearl. This is truely an awesome and unappreciated device - we can only hope that when BB10 takes off that they'll see a market for compact devices again.

side note: i did see some complaints about OS6. I have the latest build installed and it works very well. I keep around 40MB free - there is only enough room for the essential apps. Otherwise, no complaints at all.

Default agree

agree. theres nothing like it on the market.. has all the apps that REALLY matter on a phone, especially a business phone. an updated version would be nice with a faster processor, ram and better browser,.. but im not really complaining... thats why i have a playbook. i love my pearl3g. im holding on to this one.

I've never been a fan of the pint sized buttons Blackberries have become notorious for, hence why all my bb's have been Pearls

pearl 3g could be underrated but its not a worthy successor of the first pearl 8100.8100 was one of a kind when it launched.its compact design was nice.if rim continues the pearl series and designs a new pearl they should look back on the 8100 and build from that.am not saying the 9100 is bad but rim can revolutionize the pearl once again in time.

I like the 9100 better than the 8100. Better memory, better camera, better OS and the trackpad are just some of the improvements for the 9100.

i don't know if it'll get any cheaper. There are guys selling the Pearl3g on the toronto kijiji for $60 mint after just a few months of use. New they are around $100. considering it's a smart phone with all the goodness of BB, that's a great price.

This phone the best I have had! During valentines day I used my tmobile upgrade to an HTC amaze. I could just not handle it. Battery life on the 9100 is a beast!! The keyboard is just as amazing, I really hope RIM does not leave the pearl ideas in the past, and release a new one soon!
