If there's a recent backup then personal data can be restored through Desktop Manager via PC.

If there's a backup, then just restore using Desktop Manager. If there's no backup, then you're SOL. That's how the password feature works, so there's no possible way that someone can get to that information/data on the phone if they're not suppose to.

Wow.

Better get ready to take a beating from the owner of the phone. And hope they have a backup of the data on a computer.

Next time don't touch stuff that doesn't belong to you.

Thanks for the kind advice motorcycle Mama however its my young son's phone and I pay for it each mth so I will look at it whenever I choose. As for the beating no that would never happen, in fact he wasn't half as upset as i was about the whole thing. We have learned a few lessons but one of them isn't "don't touch stuff that doesn't belong to you".

Sorry. I apologize.

I read your original post a "some kid" and not "my kid". With all the extra question marks and such it didn't come across as you being the parent.

Good luck with the device.

Thanks, I guess I had all the extra ????? because I was in my panic state, all is good though, I have the curve so it doesn't have a lock feature like that one, I do know now not to experiment and just wait till he gets up and ask

All BlackBerry's have that lock function built in, you don't have it enabled is all.
