Cursor won't move in certain situations
My Pearl has developed a problem, but only during the past couple of weeks. When I go into a menu, my cursor will not scroll in any direction. If I then switch the handset off, or do a hard reboot, it will sometimes cure the problem, but only for a couple of operations, then it's back to square one
To give specific examples, if I wish to SMS, I can enter the SMS menu, enter the contact name (scrolling normal up to this point) but when I want to click the 'OK' button to proceed to the sms text input page, the cursor will not move down to OK (or anyhwere else)
When I move back a screen from the standby screen, it will move back, but I then cannot move the cursor in any direction in order to open an app, or whatever.
The same happens in the maps - I can access the maps and the first page of the menu in order to enter 'find location' but having reached that screen, I cannot the move the cursor down to 'Where I am' or any other line.
Finallly, I now find that although the handset will charge normally from its USB cord via the computer, the desktop software does not recognise that it is connected and will not therefore allow me to backup, or anything else.
My apologies for a long winded explanation of the problem, but the best advice that the 'experts' in the mobile phone shops can give me is to send the phone back to the makers for repair!
Thank you - Peter
