just to let people know that i called Rim today from the UK and was told their is no such phone as the new 9100 pearl--i was told that someone has posted either a fake picture or have adjusted a bb storm to make out that a new pearl is coming out.

RIM's policy is until there is a press release, the device does not and will not exist. They have SEVERAL new devices coming out.

Stop being such a nub. The phone is real and will be released. It's currently in testing which is why they told you it doesn't exist. When will it be released, we don't know yet. Do some searching before thinking you know it all because you called RIM and they snuffed your attempt at trying to be an undercover CrackBerry Ninja.

This thread is the funniest thread I have read on this forum! There are test units out on the new Pearl! Many testers have them already including a few members on this sight! Why is it so hard for you to understand that RIM cannot tell you the phone exist until RIM is ready to do so? Your not getting that in your head!

Did you not even see the video that Sal posted of the new Pearl sent from RIM?

Lol, of course they'll tell you that. Same way if you call Apple up asking them about their next gen iPhone, they'll give you the "Apple does not comment on speculative products. We currently offer the iPhone 3GS, the fastest, etc."

No company will reveal future products unless they want to: through press releases, company-sponsored leaks, teasers, etc. It's bad business: it lets your competitors know where you are and what you're doing.

Plus you'd have to be completely naive to think RIM isn't working on a new phone. It takes YEARS to design, develop, build, test, retest, and get approval for new phones. Apple already has their 4th generation Apple iPhone being tested in the field, and it won't be released until June/July like always. They probably have a 5th generaiton already being prototyped or at least designed.

Same with RIM. The 9100 exists just as you and I do. It's still being tested and tweaked. It'll be released when RIM is ready to announce it. Only then can you call up RIM UK, ask them if the 9100 is real, and get a yes.
