Afternoon fellows
This is my first post (and my first BB ) so go easy on me
I have a Wind BB9100 and i'm moving in a few days, going back to europe.
Now Wind hasn't updated their BB OS to V6, so i was wondering can i just download the UK Vodafone OS6 and install that,or will it not work? Also there was an article on bgr.com stating that a change in bands might be possible (article link is here )
i looked back several pages on the forum already without finding anything, but if there is please point me to it!
thank you
Rgds

now why would you want to upgrade to vista when you have a working copy of xp? really. no, you cannot change the hard settings in the phone.

Your Pearl will only get EDGE speeds in UK, changing the OS does not make any difference, but if you can't buy a new BB right now, its better than no BB.

Oh by the way, don't pay any attention to that bgr story. Its been a while since it was written, and RIM is not doing anything about changing bands on phones.

Afternoon people,
afte a lenghty flight, i find my self in europe only to find out that my AWS bb which i though would be running on a 2G network...is actually running on 3G :O :O :O i was surprised as ****, the bbm is working and everything. This makes no sense since from what i've been reading here and everywhere else the bands are different and it shouldn't happen.Happy as a clam and not complaining about it.
However, for some odd reason, my wifi refuses to do a proper connection. It says connected, but the wifi icon is grey :s and there is no green check mark.I didn't touch the settings at all, i'm stumped here...what to do?
thank you for your help all of you

I don't know much more other than when I travel to Europe once a year and get off the plane it all works. I have tmo in los angeles -- I don't use the device for calling much, just txt and email so I have never even noticed how fast a pipe I am getting, I am just so happy to have email @ my fingertips that its enough for me
