I have to admit I am getting a little nervous when it comes to the Windemere. On one hand I see rumoured pictures like the one shown here and think it could be a real beauty:



On the other hand I see cases, supposedly for the phone, that look like this.

I personally am not on fan of the the smaller, squarish look. Not only do I not think the aesthetics are not very pleasing, it appears this design would be top-heavy as well. As the rumoured specs appear to have a 1:1 aspect ratio I do not see how the first picture could be the phone and the 2nd one seems a more likely candidate.

If the rumoured specs are accurate this could be a real winner, however I think the look of the phone will still play a key role in the adoption rate for this device.

I like the rendered pictures but when you look at the case it seems very square like a Ritter Sport.

That's where your wrong. More than likely the two handed typing experience will be greatly improved with a wider phone. Especially banging out long messages or emails. The Q30 will get my back to a qwerty device.

The crucial thing with this device may not come from the hardware, you would hope that with this increase in screen real estate that we will see them improve the software in ways that will truly take advantage of it.

The first image is gorgeous. The square screen is so ridiculously ugly, I'll be embarrassed for BlackBerry if those in-case renders are real. Square screen has to be somewhere near the top of the list of dumbest BB10 designs.

There's almost 0 chance the Q30/windermere will have that long screen.

1:1 4.5inch 1440x1440 screen is pretty much confirmed.

And its gonna look pretty much like that square device.

Not liking the tall skinny renders. I have a Z30, and with two hands, I could definitely use a phone that's even wider. If it's too tall, it will flip out of the hand.

The Z30 is a good size. It would be nice if that first render had the same footprint as a Z30.

I agree on extra width gives room to have a wider keyboard and thus better typing experience for those who need to type a lot of text.

That's the word I've been trying to spread on this and other threads. I'm mainly just enjoying the convo's up until more real images are revealed.
