Hi everyone - I started using my very first Blackberry today, which is a Passport. I had been an iPhone user from the time they were released.

Am loving the phone except I am unable to download several apps which I use regularly including Uber, TuneIn radio and a few others. They are all listed on Blackberry World but it says "not available for your device". Does anyone know why this is and if they will ever be available?

You should sideload Snap so you can have access to the entire google play store

How To Sideload Google Play Client Snap For Android Apps On BlackBerry 10 - BlackBerry Empire

If that is too complicated for you then install the apk from 1Mobile Market - best Google Android Apps Market

Have you checked the amazon store for those apps?

I always just use Snap, it's an amazing utility and you don't have to worry about any potential viruses or issues since the .apk's are directly from the Google Play Store

Ha! Google Play still has plenty of malware in all its fake bait apps.

BlackBerry guardian scans the file before installing it so I imagine if anything was out of line, it would inform u?? I've yet to have anything untoward be installed on my Passport.

If some apps appear as not available for your device it means those apps have not been optimized to run on the Passport yet

Fair point. I don't mean ALL of the apps, i just mean the main, most popular ones. It's better to get those from trusted sources as opposed to sketchy sources that can have other things injected into the core Android process that you'd never even notice!
