Honestly this is one of the features I miss most from my Palm and it amazes me that BlackBerry has yet to make any inroads into it at all. So many innovative features on the Passport but lacks this one, relatively simple quality of life feature?

The Verizon version of the BlackBerry Z30 had wireless charging, in my opinion it's highly overrated. The Contact charging we had on the bold 9900 and playbook was much superior!

Because it's not as efficient as wired charging. And the Passport battery is BIG.

This is the worst. It was rumored to have it but now looks like it might be a att only thing.

my nokia 930 has wireless charging. it may look convenient, but believe me:
    1. phone is boiling hot whilst charging
    2. it is slow to charge

I use a large capacity charger (RIM Part Number HDW-34724-001) (output 5V 1.8A) when I charge my Z30 (STA100-3) wirelessly. Z30 does not become too hot and charging is fast enough.

Sorry to hear that, my experience with my Palm phones was nothing but positive.

Honestly I'd be happy with contact charging, just a dock type thing where I don't have to worry about ports or cables or anything. How USB isn't direction agnostic and magnetic at this point I don't understand.

Beside that "direction agnostic" doesn't make any sense, the new USB port will be "direction independent".

So i couldn't think of the correct term when writing that post but it makes perfect sense. It is good to see that USB is starting to move towards that though. Still waiting on a magnetic data connector though.
