Based on the threads posted so far, it is clear that there are those who have had nightmarish experiences with the Passport. Screen lifting, double-typing, multiple replacement units with defects, hot corners and other types of issues.

However, there are also those like myself who have never had a single hiccup with the device. Other than the flickering issue cause by a software update (resolved now), I have not had any serious problems with the Passport, it's been great.

I've been wondering if we should consider the manufacturing plants as the source of the problem. Is it possible that the defective Passports are coming from certain plants? If we all post where our phones were made, perhaps we could see a pattern.

I purchased a Q10 for my brother as a birthday gift a year ago and I have had my Passport for 7 months. Neither device has had any catastrophic problems.

Both of our devices were made at MEXICO 6.

    Where was your phone made?

Mine also come from Mexico 6 but had a slight defect - bright spot somewhere at the centre of the screen visible on white background. I've got a new one from amazon but haven't checked if it's from same place. I guess it is.

    Edited: device is passport black.

Passport Black made in Mexico 6. Ordered it first day available. No issues except the torqueing from being in the pants pockets (front and rear), which a slight torque in the opposite direction always fixes.

Mexico 6 0 problems, minuscule piece of the back chipped off one day. Can't really consider it problem, can't even see.

Not double type, screen lift, etc.

Mexico 6 seems to be a good plant so far. I have repaired two Passports so far from Mexico 3 that have had raised screen issues. Still too early to make a clear call, but so far it looks like the plants may be an issue that has been overlooked.

Remove the upper cover at the back of the Passport and you will see the plant name there. Look carefully though, the writing is tiny.
