    Anyone please help me!!!!

    I have installed the latest version of Whatsapp from play store, but it kept showing "looking for backup" and the app just won't start up. Anyone knows what's happening to my phone?

    Go to File Manager and see if there is a backup file Device/misc/whatsapp/backup

    Whatsapp creates a backup file automatically. Hope this helps

    It may be looking for the Backup in Google Drive perhaps? Playstore meaning you've installed the Playstore and installed the Android version of Whatsapp?

    Thanks everyone! Problem solved by hitting "add account" in setting while whatsapp is showing looking for backup. You can try this in case you get the same problem.

    Hey nekosan, I did not get it, in which app/menu one needs to add account to get past looking for backups?
