Why is the output volume so low? In the car we all connect our devices via audio cable to the stereo and all my mates (iphones & androids) play at a good volume then when it's my turn to plug in the volume is so much lower be it through youtube, fast tube or just the music off the device.

    What setting am I missing?

I've had the same situation happen to me even with the audio boost enabled, there isn't much volume.

Very embarrassing volume! I had a party and I plug my phone into the radio for the music. Of all the phones available my passport was the only phone we couldn't use for the party music because the volume is too low to be played at a party. Heck it was too low for 4 of us sitting together playing cards and listening to music.

Can this be fixed with a software update?

I plug mine into my car radio all the time and the volume is fine. I'm no expert but certainly with the Frozen sound track (my granddaughters will listen to nothing else) it is more than loud enough! LOL

The volume is loud enough to play in a small space, like a car, but try giving a party and need room filled music. Blackberry phones are TERRIBLE for this. Everyone elses phone pumps out good volume when plugged into the radio except the passport. Ugh! I think it's a blackberry problem because my Z10 was terrible as well.

My Passport has the same issue. My Z10 is much louder when plugged into aux of the car. Hopefully it can be fixed with a software update. If I play music with the 7Digital App it seems to be a tad bit louder.

The price of that device si $49.99! So after paying $600 for the phone, I have to buy a $50.00 device just to get the phone to play at a volume that every other phone can play without this device? No thanks! Besides, this device does not say it increases the volume so I could be wasting my money.

It does, because you pair via bluetooth.. but it's kind of expensive indeed.. I got mine for 30 dollars.

So pairing via bluetooth makes the volume louder?

Well it's digital sound.. so it doesn't directly involve your volume..where using the jack-in plug which is anolog does directly involve your volume.. I can adjust the volume via my BlackBerry via the music gateway but it's still a digital increase. Works great, in-car and home entertainment...

Ok, I bought the music gateway at amazon for 15.99. It worked perfectly the first day, then the next day it wouldn't connect to my passport anymore. I then tried to pair it with my z10 and it worked fine so it has to be a problem with the passport. I checked my connection settings and can't find anything wrong. Can anyone help me, please?

Hooked up the music gateway and it works beautifully. Makes the music volume on my phone much louder. Sucks that I had to buy another device to get adequate sound out of my phone. Just thankful that I found it on sale for $15.99 and didn't have to pay the original price of $49.99. Thanks for the advice, Erik.
