    My passport does not allow me to use bbm on wifi network alone when my sim is inserted (mobile network off). Once the sim is removed only then I could use bbm with Wifi only. Is this normal?

    No, this is not normal. I use BBM all day usually on wifi

    I use BBM with wifi only. It works great. I am not sure what's causing your probelm.

    I had that once on my Q10. I resolved it by rebooting my router.

    Telkomsel Indonesia. Are you saying, that my provider or my sim card is letting my device to behave this way? I did reboot the router and still the same.

    Could be, some carriers are forcing BB users to have a BlackBerry plan, and restricting access if you don't have that plan (Unfortunately it also seems to be effecting WiFi connections too, and really should not be)
