Does anyone know if there is an app, or some way, to get AM radio on the Passport, or any smartphone, but especially the Passport since that is the phone I plan on purchasing at some point this fall? And ideally without having to use up my data minutes?

With talk radio on AM so huge, and music readily available from so many sources that FM isn't as necessary for such as it used to be, I have wondered why I don't hear more about people wanting or being able to get AM on the smartphones for easy listening while out and about. Maybe it is out there and I am just not aware, but the Passport looks to be my new smartphone of choice, and getting AM radio on it would just be icing on the cake. Thanks.

Never seen am radio in a smartphone but I might be wrong..

As for apps.. my only interesting stations have apps that I can listen on

If I remember correctly, the antenna hardware required for AM radio is prohibitively large and requires much more protection from interference than does FM.

tunein radio app has SOME AM stations.....
People listen to FM radio bc it doesn't use data, and you don't have to think about what you want to hear. Just put on a station that plays genres you like. You also get to hear stuff you wouldn't have tried otherwise.
