    Hello,
So I've read in some forums that advance interactions bleed the battery. Keeping that in mind, I have turned them off. Now, in order to put the passport in sleep mode, the only option left is to press the power button.
I am afraid that pressing it again and again would make it troublesome so the only other way to speed up the sleep mode is to create a shortcut for lock device.
    Here are the questions:
*Can I assign Sleepmode activation to a shortcut key? Couldn't find the option.
*Can I change the time the passport takes to go into sleep mode once it is locked?

You can lock the device by assining a letter to lock it just press akey that's not being used and you'll get the options!

    I think I'm missing something.

You don't want to hit the power button to engage sleep mode (which is what it is designed to do) because you are worried about wearing it out, but want to assign a single key on your keypad that you intend on pressing and holding repeatedly instead?

I understand why you may wish to do this as a matter of convenience, but not for the reason indicated.

Now that you put it this way, my reason seems almost nonsensical although I will insist that it is not. I personally find the keyboard keys less vulnerable to being worn out for the following reasons:

*the material: I haven't had a good life with metallic buttons
    * I have a silicone glove on my passport and this glove covers the Power button aswell. I'd avoid punching it again and again given how the glove hampers the recognition of exact pressure needed to press the button.

Get a holster with the sleep function. My Seidio holster has it and, naturally, the OEM holster has it.

Why stop there? You shouldn't use the volume keys either because you might wear them out eventually. I suggest remapping them as well.

Just use the 'Advance Interaction' functions i.e. 'Lift to wake', 'Flip to mute', 'Flip to save power' and/or 'Hold to stay awake'.

    Don't confuse sleep with bedside.

Sleep occurs whenever your screen times out and goes dark. Of course the phone will work.

FYI, you can program whatever you want to happen in bedside mode.
