I'm on the fence when it comes to what phone to get. I like the wider screen and the keyboard but I also want the option of the on screen keyboard. Any opinions?

No real device ever lives up to the fantasy of the devices "coming soon".
The real question you need to ask yourself is whether the passport offers the experience you want and fits your way of using a communication device. Also, does it do it in a way compellingly better than your current device.
I went from a z10 to a passport, and have been satisfied for the most part. The form factor is a compromise that works great for some tasks(e.g reading, typing out emails and documents, long conference calls) and not so well for others (e.g. Viewing movies and some games) . The overall experience has been positive. My desire would be a more lifeproof device so I could relax more around water and work sites.

If I could get the Passport on Verizon I would grab it today. I'm not sure what to think of the slider yet. Not enough concrete information at this time.

I have the passport now and I'll be getting the Venice. I could do a comparison when I get it, but until it gets here, no one will be able to give you a real answer.

The slider is rumored to have the same type of touch sensitive keyboard.

I was on the slider bandwagon, and I still might get one, but the new silver passport is so good I don't think I could go back to the thinner screen again.

I would wait until at least the slider comes out to make your decision

Frankly, me too! I'm totally on the fence as well. Eventually I'll probably get both as this Blackberry fanboy loves anything silver.

I was the same as you, I finally decided to get the Passport as there are too many unanswered questions surrounding the Slider, will it run Android (wouldn't get one if it did) will it be too large comming from a Z10, I'm also not sure about the curved screen and finally will it be released any time soon.

Honestly, do whatever feels right for you. We are all different and have different needs and wants. I understand, OP, that you want some feedback...but to be quite frank, these questions are asked a lot on these forums and no matter what we say, you gotta do you in the end. Technology is always progressing. Grab the tech that can meet your needs now, and when obsolescence kicks in, just upgrade it.

Same here. Just bought the Red Passport as things were too unsure for me around the slider: Crapdroid? Too large screen? My mum has the black passport so I know that one is perfect for me and my hands.
