    How long does it take to perform a security wipe on Passport? I did a security wipe about 15 minutes ago and it still having the security wipe icon with loading circle keep going around until now.

    I wonder if something's wrong? Does it usually take this long?

    Thanks dslocumb, I never tried wipe from device previously, so I got a bit panicked.

    With BBSAK in BBOS it usually only took a minute or two lol.

    Anyway it has finished wiping now. So it depends on how many data you have on the phone, I assume?

    It takes a good 45+ minutes.

    The reason why it takes so long, is the phone is actually properly erasing your data.

    Unlike Apple and Android who wipe very quickly, it's not a complete job.

    You can't rush quality !

    If I do a security wipe will my phone go back to 10.3.0 as they are putting a hold on 10.3.1 now?

    No.... it wipes the data and user identity. The os isn't touched.

    I've had a passport wipe going for the past seven hours.

    When I left home 5 hours ago it was on 84% and now I'm home its only 94%

    Should I just be patient?

    As long as it's moving you're ok. Also if the device was encrypted first it might take longer. Proper way is to encrypt with a one time complex password that you'll never remember then wipe.

    The longest recorded 'security wipe' time, which I believe should be in the Guinness World Records, is more than two weeks and would probably still be on-going if only the users' patience last that long too...
