I don't know about all of this BUT I do know the DTEK50 is NOT a replacement for my PP SE, no way no how.... I have both phones side by side and I cant bring my self to swap the Sim card over. I just been staring at it for the past 2 days....like an in-law that came for Christmas and wont leave..... BTW is there Really a GOLD passport?!? ...no way.(fairytale)

Have both the RED and the SE.

Yes the keyboard feels better on SE but somehow the battery lasts longer on the RED. Another is that the sound on the SE is slightly better than RED. As far as OS the RED is running 10.3.3 and runs perfectly and SE have not updated yet.

I have 3 Black OG and 3 SE.

I prefer overall the SE but there should be something different inside because I always have better battery in OG units than on SE.

They are cloned so no differences about apps or content.


At the end of the day the 10-12% battery difference is there.

Why so many? Do you properly clone them? Or just have an identical setup.

I wonder if you could find one I got mine from the US when it was launched in all honesty Red is how the passport should look like. I am into business and red gels very well its been more the 2years+ never had any issues with red no screen lift or anything else. I love hard keys played with se but dint enjoy the keys much. Some offered me the price I got it for but I dint part I wish I could find a backup red its hell of a sexy phone...nothing till day stands a red passport...I have never been so passionate about my phones the way I feel for red its the only phone I would go to till date...I once was almost on the verge of selling it but I was lucky enough it dint happen

I have the red one and I think it's awesome. I'm looking at getting an SE once the prices hit bottom of the barrel prices.

are you sure just see my comment of SE like brocken LCD? other problem like hot part uperight,reboot itself,drain batry if we turn off it as long 3houres. oh i dont know why ? but made i so disampointed of SE. rare part! more problem.

Well yeah, some have no issues at all, but I've been browsing this forum for almost 2 years and I've noticed more hardware complaints from Passport users than the Classic, especially the SE. Since I have first hand experience with some of these issues, I consider the SE a risky investment. I'm considering buying a new OG when the price drops to $100 and use them side by side.

I went the Karalux site again. They have a video with the White and SE together gold plated. It would be great to plate one of these. I would own a Silver, Gold and White....bloody hell.

Given you live in India and are looking for ways to obtain devices that are pretty hard to get your hands on (Red Passport), you might not have the luxury of being picky lol. Personally, I would take the SE over all of them. I have every version of the Passport released and the SE is what I always favored, but as others have mentioned, it's all subjective.

B1aze, I've always had camera issues with my BlackBerry 10 devices, and my BlackBerry Classic with Camera++ app is a current daily driver of mine. Would a Passport be an improvement? If so, is the SE camera better than the 100-1 or 100-3 one? I want to factor in the camera as I'm thinking of adding a Passport to my BlackBerry 10 collection before I spend even more $ on the Mercury!
