Contemplating installing Google Play but since I already have Snap, I'm wondering if it's redundant? If GP is installed should Snap be uninstalled? Does GP take up more resources/memory than Snap?

They both in the end do the same thing. I think some people have different results with each even download the same thing sometimes so they use both. I say both are worthwhile to have installed.

I have both installed, and don't really see a negative impact on having them both on. With the latest GPS patched app, you can now buy apps and supports in app purchases. I don't think you can do that with the apps from Snap..

Well, if you have auto update on in Google Play, it will download them in the background and ask you if want to update them. It has to go through the BB apk installation procedure, so installation won't happen in the background.

-Loading problems (category lists don't load. It's a bug with the current version)

Google Play Store: Don't forget the apk backup feature for paid apps, the ability to access Google Books, Google Music and Google Movies and the update notifications for app updates.

The only negative at all with the Google Play Store is the impact on battery life. Android apps and ports from BlackBerry World are a Major drain.

Can you please prove that by posting a screenshot of your battery monitor. How many % of your battery did Play Store consume in the last few hours? Maybe 1%?

Hey Cobolt...You seem to be the man in the know! I tried to install the BT Wifi App ( to save logging into wifi hot-spots manually) but cannot get it to work . When I open it it crashes...It worked fin on my Q10 but not on my Passport

I no longer have it installed on my phone but when I did, It was using about 1% every hour which is a lot in the long run

My total battery usage of Play Store in the last 12h is under 1%. It's nothing compared to other apps as i.e. the CB app.

I don't have it installed yet but can't you put the icons in a folder?!

One more thing about Play Store:
Updated applications may not work. Recent example: Chrome Browser.

Well that's not a problem of the store. It just fetches the app. But just to be sure that updated apps work you should uninstall downloaded android apps from Blackberry world. They may have different signatures. Then download the pure android app from Google Play.
