Is anybody using the Passport for displaying Powerpoint presentations?

I need to project via VGA, but it looks like there is a slimport to VGA adapter. It would be great if this would really work. My Passport is only two days old and already trying to find new applications for this puppy.

    Questions:

    1) Do most Powerpoint presentations display properly via Docs-to-Go, limitations? animations, etc?

    2) Would pdf files work better (with Acrobat)?

    3) How do you flip slides?

    4) Can you share via Webex?

    5) What VGS adapter do you use?

I have a slimport to hdmi cable & it works perfectly for powerpoint presentations. You'll need a projector with an hdmi input. Use the device to flip through the slides. It's very easy.

I have used mine several times in lectures on large screen presentation with the slimport to hdmi adaptor and with VGA adaptor.
HDMI is best because of much higher resolution and image quality.
Not only you can do everything you can do from your laptop, but you can zoom in! I wowed a conference two days ago when I did that on my lives during a panel discussion.

You. Flip slides by swiping your keyboard or the touch screen.
You even see the notes of your slides on your cellphone while the slide shows up on the big screen! It's like presenting from a prompter! Simply great!

Yi have just ordered the slimport to VGA adapter. Until now I had to use the slimport to hdmi adapter connected to an HDMI to VGA adaptor. The latter needs you to connect the power supply.
The slimport to hdmi adaptor does not require your passport to also be connected to the power supply as the hdmi to VGA adaptor does.

I have not been able to use miracast because I have never encountered a projector or monitor that has miracast.

Powerpoint works better than pdf on a mirrored screen because it adjusts to occupy the whole screen. But acrobat also works well.

Miracast would work as well, you need a dongle like Roku and plugged into a TV hdmi port.

Don't forget though miracast mirrors your phone so when you're in the middle of a presentation and your wife sends you a dirty bbm message, that message would pop up and will be shown on the TV screen as well.

True but you can suppress instant previews when doing a presentation. Usually do mine through miracast or hdmi and always suppress them before starting.

This is encouraging. I just tried one of my more challenging slides in terms of animation and it appeared to work flawlessly on the phone display.

I think I'll order one each of Slimport to VGA and HDMI cables. Will the VGA do 1280x1024?

    Thanks everybody.

One other thing. The Webex app says that you can share from the Phone. Does this work with Docs-to-Go in presenter mode?

I love the fact that even when presenting, it shows you a preview of the next slide on the Passport screen (and notes if you have any).

Oh,.. you can also use the space bar to advance slides, and the up and down volume keys to advance and move back (good if you're walking around and not looking at the Passport itself).

Have you made sure to allow "Shared Files" in Settings > Security and Privacy > Application Permissions? If you don't, you can't upload files via CB app.
