Does the blackberry passport overheat or get hot during use, some devices overheat which I hate but I'm not sure since I don't have it yet.

When you're watching videos it tends to get hot, which is why I rarely do

It seems to get warm with updates, but then settles down; some android apps also make it get very warm and the battery lasts less, particularly with the phone encrypted. Hasn't happened to me in some time, though.

Warming up is normal. Question would be how good is the design and its insulation.

Generally, it's ok for me compared with other phones...

My Passport gets significantly warmer in Skype calls and also when I use external battery during phone calls. But this is expected.

Does it get hot to the touch. I know it's normal for devices to get warm but some phones get extremely hot to where you can't touch certain parts of it. And I don't want a exploding phone like Samsung lol I liked the iPhone cause I don't ever notice my iPad getting warm on its own or my old iPhone 5 I use to have.

An extended YouTube session, 2 hrs or so, gets mine warm in the area behind the volume controls. It also eats up battery life.

Does It burn your skin if you touch it, I'm concerned for the summer time, where phones get hot fast due to weather. My friend has a android phone and he always complains that his phone overheats and restarts and shuts down on him.

In my experience so far the worst case was "very warm". Nothing I could call hot, nothing uncomfortable for the skin.
But I keep in mind that batteries are more sensitive than us human beings, so I avoid "warming" activities whenever possible.

I think Google Services are to blame.

I live in Florida and never have had an over heating issue. When it seems to become excessively warm things seem to slow down a little. And temp steadies out but never get critical.
