    I just hung up from a call and went to answer a text my phone was locked, on the screen it said u attempted the password 6 times which i didn't. I put my password in and it stays at 6 attempts. I do have a few text messeges that i need and really don't want to wipe it if i don't have to. And if the number of attempts are not working I'm wondering if the wipe will work as a last resort. Any suggestions. I did search but couldn't find anything on this issue.

    Type "blackberry" instead of your password. Then type in your (correct!) password.

    Afterwards you might want to use BBVE to check your proximity sensor...
