The camera is just plain terrible. I really like the device but as a media consumer the camera just sucks. My 1999 logitech took better shot. Is it just my camera or anyone else feels the same way?

I wouldn't characterise it as "horrible" - I'd rather say it was inconsistent. I've taken some excellent shots with the PP camera, but I've also taken a good number that did not come out at all well. The auto-focus is slow, and the speed/ISO settings mean that sometimes the Passport makes decisions that I would not have made with a manual camera. Mind you, the same is true of most cameras in phones; if I want to record an event, I'll always bring along a "real" camera.

You pretty much summed up the issue in your post. You're a media consumer, the Passport was designed first and foremost as a business tool. The front facing camera is there purely for the purpose of video calls.

The on the Q10 is really awful too. Shame that in 2015, BlackBerry users still can't take a decent selfie. Even my iPod is streets ahead.

I love my Passport more than Anything, but the front camera on the Z10 was much, much better.
The passport has a lot of noise reduction going on, which smears the image considerably. It could be possible that it's better without it.

My guess is they prioritised low light performance over image quality; which I can understand in a way seeing as video communication would be more important than taking selfies

Nope on MY passport. It's good for selfie. Much less blurry than any 2mp front camera of any phone. The same thing goes for the rear camera. As for slow auto focus, it's easily fixed with an OS update. On the leak 680, it focuses so fast I never worry about taking bad pictures.

Yes the front facing camera is sh*t, no doubt about this!!
It is kind of slow, and you have to be really front of the light. The front camera from my iphone's wife is wayyyyyyy better.

Works better than my past iPhones and last galaxy S4. Don't know what your complaining about. Maybe you should get an OPPO phone where the camera rotates from front to back? This way we won't have to hear complaints about the little things
