Just purchased a used unlocked passport. It is asking for the device password. Is there a default password I didn't get? or do most users make up their own? What do I do now?

There is no default password. You'll need to get the password from the previous owner.

Sounds like they didn't do a security wipe before sending!
Ask for the password and request that they remove their phone from their BBID, otherwise it will be connected to their BlackBerry Protect account
