    Hi,

    My 1 year old BB Passport is dead. It doesnt power on and when I plug it into my lappy or charger static red light turns on nothing else happens.

    Has anyone faced this before of know howto fix this ?

    Can it be a dead batt or should it also work if batt is dead when its connected to charger?

    I had the same problem just after i bought it for one day....so i sent it back to the shop and they swapped another phone for me. Is your phone still under warranty? If yes you must take it back. I don't know what caused the problem...but it happened after charging overnight...bad quality. I guess i will look for another phone after this passport...i mean, another brand.

    I am now in contact with BlackBerry support. Had to try some thing nut didn't help. They are going to call me tomorrow.

    How long warranty does a device bought from shopblackbery have?

    I second that nothing compares to passport have been using it trouble free for more than a year and as I got it from america knowing I dont have service or support as india wont cover foreign device I still bought as its a work horse you people have support shouldn't be much of a problem for you to get it fixed....one of the best device I have used and if priv doesnt perform as expected then my next device will be passport in all it updated glory

    Fixed! The USB port was loose from the mainboard. A repair center around the corner solderd it back on. 30 bucks.

    BlackBerry rejected to help because the guarantee was passed 1month.
