Here I focused on my grandma's ring. The ring is tiny and the camera had a hard time focus on it with 10.3.0. Now, point, focus, and shoot.

Hmmm, this may be the most compelling reason for me to get 10.3.1, notwithstanding the risk of screen flicker and low volume. My daughter doesn't sit still long enough for the 10.3.0 autofocus to make up its mind.

Try it the autofocus seems a bit faster and the screen flicker went away for me after I rebooted the passport.

My biggest complaint was the time it took to switch over to video mode. Seems to be better on 10.3.1.

Definitely faster auto focus... and gets the right focus everytime.
Changing to video just takes a second and starts recording right after.

This is great!

Part of me was worried that they didn't spend anytime on fixing the camera focus issues. At least they put the camera software people that they hired a while back to good use.

Much improved so far from what I see... quality was always great once focusing was done in a timely manner...

Anyway it shows Blackberry is improving the overall camera experience via improvements in software.. more to certainly come in future releases...

Besides auto focus and shutter speed are improved, anyone pays attention to the sound of your passport's camera? I think the cameras of my two passports sound less louder after updating to 10.3.1.1581.

Autofocus has improved. Although Snapshot mode of Camera++ still seems faster.

BlackBerry Camera app also introduced some bugs. Random flickering green screen is one.

Yes - it does seem the Auto Focus has been improved significantly!!
