My car (Lexus) had the ability to convert text messages to speech and allow me to reply/ignore via the cars speech recognition. This worked perfectly with my WP8 and Android phones.

Paired up my Passport and I can make/receive phonecalls but the text messages bit doesnt do anything. My phone bleeps to tell my I have a text message but the car wont read it out.

Any ideas of a setting in the phone to allow this? I didn't do anything special on my other phones, they just worked.

I use the Blackberry Assistant to read me Emails/BBM's/Txt's. I just say "Read back last message" when I receive something, and it reads it out to me, with options on what action to take next.

I have a lexus as well and when connected to Bluetooth it did read out my text msg. I have had no issues connecting. Only thing I notice sometimes there is a lag when I receive my emails.

I'm having a little conflict on my 2015 Honda Accord V6 with the native system. However, Blackberry Assistant works in harmony with the system, i.e, it reads texts and emails and I can answer them through Assistant
